Abstract | SeveraltechnologicalproblemshavetoberesolvedforLEDtobeusedasageneralpurposelightsource.
For instance,LEDluminaireshaveapropertyofhighluminanceduetoanarrowbeamangleandasmall
volume comparedtogenerallightsources.Thereareseveraldifferencesbetweenexistingluminaires
and theintensitydistributionofanLEDluminaire.Anopticalengineerhasthechallengingproblemof
designingaspatiallyextendedandnon-uniformlightsource.ItisdifficultforLEDluminairestoobtain
the targetluminousintensitydistributionrequiredinaspace,becausethedesignprocessrequires
much trialanderror.Andtheprocessalsorequiresmuchdesigntime.Inthisstudy,anoptimization
algorithmofanumericalmodelforluminousintensitydistributionofplanarLEDluminaireswas
developedtofindoptimizedprismangles.Thisalgorithmwouldusedthemicrogeneticalgorithm
techniquewhichistheimprovedformofgeneticalgorithms.Also,thisalgorithmiscapableofderiving
the optimizedangleofaprismtoachievethetargetluminousintensitydistributionofplanarprismLED
luminaires.Therefore,thepurposeofthisstudyistointroduceanumericalmodelofaplanarprismLED
luminaireandtodevelopaoptimizationalgorithmthatisabletofindanoptimumluminaireoptical
design solutionusingthemicrogeneticalgorithm. |
