| Abstract | Split-type electric heat pump (EHP) systems, widely used in small and medium-sized offices, have limitations in maintaining the recommended indoor relative humidity (RH) range of 40-60% during winter heating period. This study proposes the integration of a hollow fiber membrane (HFM) humidifier into the indoor unit of an EHP system to provide hygienic and efficient humidification. The performance of this system was evaluated through a dynamic simulation, coupling an HFM numerical model with an indoor moisture dynamic model. Simulation results for the heating period showed that the proposed system maintained indoor humidity within the 40-60% comfort range, improving the thermal satisfaction ratio from 8% to 96% and enhancing the weekly average predicted mean vote (PMV) from below -0.5 to approximately -0.3. The findings confirm that the integrated HFM-EHP system can address winter dryness in offices and improve occupant thermal comfort. |
