Abstract | Electrification of energy consumption is presented as a major strategy in the energy consumption sector of buildings. In apartment complexes, 80% of hot water supply facilities use gas. The introduction of a heat pump system is considered the most likely alternative to power them. In this study, the cooling and hot water performance of the cascade heat pump system was evaluated by conducting empirical experiments. A multi-function cascade heat pump system was compared to a single heat pump system. The results showed that the EER of the cascade heat pump system was improved by 15.3%. It is expected that the possibility of achieving building electrification and energy savings will increase through the introduction of cascade heat pump systems in residential buildings. |
