AbstractAs numerous sensors are used in buildings to improve smart ventilation technologies, independent power generators are require that can be supplied power for all day. Previous studies propose an energy harvesting block using a thermoelectric generator (TEG) that generates electricity and supplies power to a smart sensor.Building an energy harvesting block wall requires multiple energy harvesting blocks. Therefore, in this study, the amount of power generation according to the electrical arrangement of multiple energy harvesting blocks was analyzed. In order to compare the maximum power generation of the energy harvesting block array, an experiment was conducted using the December sol-air temperature profile. For maximum power generation, the external resistance was connected in the same way as the internal resistance of the block, and the measurement was carried out as a closed circuit. Arrays consisted of serial arrays, parallel arrays, and combination arrays. The experiment was conducted by connecting 1.6Ω, 15Ω, and 60Ω with the same external resistance as the internal resistance of each array. The maximum power generation was 0.837Wh/day when the energy harvesting blocks were connected in series. In terms of power generation, the serial array was the most advantageous.
